It’s not clear how long you’ll have to wait to actually get your phone — we were under the impression that they wouldn’t be rolling out until next year’s Super Bowl — but it looks like ESPN is signing up subscribers for its new Mobile ESPN cellphone service. You really better love sports, since the service isn’t exactly a steal. You’ll pay $399 for the phone (a black Sanyo MM-9000) after a $100 rebate and then anywhere from $64.99 for a bucket of 450 anytime minutes to $224.99 for a bucket of 2000 anytime minutes. All plans include unlimited nights and weekends, 100 text messages, 35MB of wireless data downloads, a handful of pre-loaded games, a one-year subscription to ESPN The Magazine, and a mess of special ESPN-centric features like an ESPN video player, text alerts for sports scores, personalized sports stats, ESPN Fantasy Manager, access to online ESPN news and commentary, and a few other odds and ends.
